Love Kills
Words and music by unknown
These are the lyrics to "Love Kills" that appear on the lyric sleeve of the
LP and the CD. No-one knows for sure where they come from, but it is certain
they are not related to the song as sung by Freddie. One theory is based on
the known fact that when Moroder asked Freddie to sing on the Metropolis
soundtrack, Freddie agreed but did not like the song and so rewrote it.
Therefore, one possibility is that these are the original Moroder lyrics that
Freddie did not like, and that he completely rewrote the song into the one we
all know today. This explanation does not seem terribly likely, but no other
possible explanation has ever been offered.
If you had kept your eyes wide open
You might have stood at least a chance
You could have taken some precaution
At least have had a second glance
Love is lethal, love's a crime
Love is fatal, love's a tyrant
Love is murder, love destroys
Love won't stop until
Love kills
Love hides and waits within your feelings
It's full of cloak and dagger style
And always ready without warning
To sentence you without a trial
Love is lethal, love's a crime
Love is fatal, love's a tyrant
Love is murder, love destroys
Love holds on until
Love kills
So now you're staring at the future
But you can't take along the past
And emptiness, that silver bullet
Slams and tears right through your heart
(Repeat 2nd chorus)
