Pavan
Arranged by Peter Warlock and Brian May
Performed by Brian May, Julian Hemmingway and Stuart Esworthy
This piece was played by Brian at the "Capital Radio Rock Master Class"
in November 1983, and was released on an accompanying cassette. A pavan
is a traditional 16th century dance, and Brian produced a three part
arrangement for electric guitar as part of the master class. He taught two
student guitarists to play it, and explained to the audience how everything
fitted together. At the end of the class, they all played the completed pavan
together.
A studio arrangement of the Pavan was included on the cover CD of the
June 1998 issue of "Guitarist" Magazine. This, however, does not feature
Brian playing the guitar (though it is based on his arrangement).
